Often he is criticized for not paying attention, he has poor organization skills, but at times can be “super organized”. He trys hard at school, but this never does him any good. Again is this ADHD? If so how bad?

Can anyone help me? My poor friend’s son has be telling him that he always has something going on in his imagination, (i.e. static, parts of movies, songs) and he says this distracts him all the time. He is 15 and he has kept it a secret all his life until now, he’s been ok in shcool he could be better, many say he’s “elsewhere” He stresses in basic tasks of life (homework, washing dishes, other small chores) He often interruprts and doesn’t think before he speaks. Is this ADHD? If so how bad?

I have ADHD. I struggle so much with it and it’s not just hyperactivity or not paying attention. It’s a lot more than that. If you look at my grades in college and in high school, you would think I’m stupid, but I have an IQ 120. I have huge learning gaps bc i refused to take meds as a child.
People poke fun at it but it can be a very hard thing to live with.

I have bad ADHD. but its weird, i go through phases, if i determine myself to overcome it i can, if i want money ill make 12 thousand in four months, if im having trouble over coming it ill go on a drinking binge and spend every dime i have. When i was in university if i was determined for one semester id get A’s, If i was having trouble coping with ADHD id get the lowest marks ever the next semester. I know im smart and could achieve alot but it always comes back to this disorder.

Totally agree with you, my son is the best artist I have seen and he was only 8 when he started drawing magnificent pictures of super unique cars with much detail. Adderall helped him well. We tried everything else and that was the thing that got him the most focused as far as precriptions went.

sbennett92, be nice. Maybe you should not be on this sight. You have another label, Obsessive compulsive disorder or anger management training. PS Just giving you crap.

Don’t judge if you don’t know. Peace.

I do have all these symptoms and am also on ritilan, I find the only way I can get things done is to always have a notepad to make a list and collect your thoughts, it does not matter if nobody else can read your notes, you will know what’s up.

so if you fidget and get bored you have adhd? **** off
May 26th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
(cont) if they knew I had adhd, I’d be completely shunned from everyone’s social life and no one would care about my existance anymore (it sounds like i’m exagerating, but i swear, at my school, if you have adhd you’re “retarded beyond help”).

i’ve got a crap situation.
my school is one of the top public schools in the country, and grades tends to reflect popularity (really unstereotypical). I was a genius in middle and grade school, top 1% of the country in math scores.
Then adhd symptoms somehow started to grow, and now in high school i’m failing several classes. No one knows i have adhd, and everyone thinks i’m just lazy and stupid. It sucks, but if they knew i had adhd (cont’d next reply)

Thank you 3dollar, maybe I`ll go buy him a science kit & see what happens. I know if anything needs to be fixed around the home, my son is just 9 but can fix it so I know my son isn`t dumb. I was an all A student all through school and college but can`t figure out how to fix anything, yet my son fails in school but can fix anything. If schools were based on the ADD mind, things would be reversed. My son would be the star student & others would feel failure. I don`t wish failure on anyone though

your child may be going through what I’m going through he may be uninterested in the topics he s doing he may be interested in more complicated topics I myself am interested in extremely complicated things such as bio-mechanics and biology I also think more philisophically and scientifically then most people I know I also crave knowledge on a collousial scale your son may be thinking the same way I am

enriched wheat flour, MSG (Monosodium Glutamate watch?v=5Tc4-FQ8WIs)
, Natural flavors…
The list goes on and on kids. If you think you suffer from ADHD start looking for videos on nutrition. Search for psychetruth and listen to people telling the truth independently for no profit at all. Your fellow human beings. Not a corporate shill looking to rob you and become your pusher.
Oh, and stop drinking soda. Especially if you’re young.

Thats one part of the problem blondie. The other part is what people eat. There are tons of additives, synthetic products, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics and other byproducts of our corrupt Food Industry. I think there is enough evidence to support the theory that eating consciously, learning to meditate and a lil tough love, can cure it without become a junkie, high on some GIANT PHARMACEUTICAL companies drugs.

Eliminate HFCS, Aspartame, gluten, and (con’t)

What about adults with ADHD, you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. You couldn’t possibly understand what it’s like to feel so stupid. Like you can never possibly fit in.
